Harry and Meghan’s Disneyland family photo sparked bizarre online claims, from AI editing to faked pregnancies.
A family photo of Harry and Meghan at Disneyland has triggered bizarre
online conspiracy theories.
Los Angeles, United States – A seemingly wholesome family photo of
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at Disneyland has ignited a new wave of bizarre
conspiracy theories online, with trolls now targeting their children, Archie
and Lilibet.
Over the weekend, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, shared a curated
Instagram post featuring highlights from the family’s visit to the California
theme park. The post included an image of Harry and Meghan posing with their
two young children. As has become standard for the privacy-conscious couple,
the children’s faces were obscured with heart emojis.
But what was meant to be a cherished family moment quickly became the
subject of frenzied speculation across social media platforms. Fringe
conspiracy theorists dissected the photo in obsessive detail, alleging
everything from digital manipulation to outright fabrication of the family's
presence at the park.
Some online users bizarrely claimed that the children had been
artificially inserted into the photo using AI. Annotated versions of the image
flooded X (formerly Twitter), with some insisting that Lilibet was “levitating”
and being supported by a “disembodied hand.” Others asserted the photo was
taken in winter, citing Archie’s layered clothing and comparing the children's
apparent sizes to older images.
